ELEMENT OF WATER ~COLORADO RIVER~

There are 5 elements that are the building blocks for the structure of the universe.  One of these elements is Water or Jala in Sanskrit.  Water is cool, wet, flowing and cleansing.  We can incorporate Water into our daily activities in many ways.  We can consume, practice a yoga flow, swim and meditate on water.
There is something pure, majestic and calming on which the river flows.  Its a journey, its a J-stroke in a canoe, its a destination….
Two of my great loves are Yoga and Nature.  I am helping brainstorm an idea to bring about the best of these two loves onto the Colorado River and with the Texas River School (https://texasriverschool.org/).  Stay tuned for more but if your also interested in the idea of all things Yoga, Nature and the element of Water please let me know!  This is a journey we can all relate to and manifest together.

Where have YOU been?!

Wow, really...where have YOU been?! Is a question directed directly at me!

NO need to explain what I've been doing in the past let's just get started today! I'm a fitness fan...all sports, all types of exercises...you name it...I enjoy it.  Movement in our life is key.  And with that I'll show you what I did during my 60 minute lunch today.  Let me breakdown my lunch-hour:

-6 min walk to gym
-6 min change of clothes
-37 min workout
-6 min change of clothes, wipe down
-6 min walk back to work
Total : 63 minutes

It can be done...my goal was to get the 37 minute Cardio Training + Lower Body Strength Workout done 2xs.  I was huffing and puffing only 1x through...better luck next time!

Here's the workout~I included 8lb weights on all lunge exercises:

I had 5 min remaining and couldn't start the workout again so I picked up 2 5lb plates and since I've been playing softball I mimic throwing the ball with a firm grasp on the 5lb plate...then I put both 5 lb plates together and swing them as I would at bat!  Batta batta swinga batta!  Makes for a great twisting yet controlled motion and really good for power hitting!

Mondays are about the only day I can dedicate to the gym but that's only because I do other exercises throughout the week and I don't have an hour to dedicate inside the gym.  It can be done...work on those minutes and have a protein bar or shake on hand upon your return!

Have a nice Monday...and remember Train for Life...everyday!

xoxo,
Myra

On the plains and mountains of Peru, there you will find a Viscacha (vis-KA-cha). Cousin to the Chinchilla, but they have ears that are long and upright and they are neither the bunny rabbit, for their  tails are long and curly.

I love to share totally unrelated coffee topics such as this one!  Still a cute little creature you can now share with friends! Onward to the weekend my friendly Viscachas!!

Back at work for a full week this time...holidays have been hard with everything falling mid-week.  Child back in school and everyone back to some sort of normalcy...with some New Year new-ness to it all.  The weather has changed quite a bit in the past few days...like its the coldest time of the year in Austin.  I found this cute picture and labeled it Layers....

If you didn't layer this morning...you probably wished you did!  Happy Monday!
